EVO SPLITTER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Approximate installation time:
3 hours
or less - simple hand tools
Step 1: Removal and disassembly of front bumper cover
A:
Remove 10mm bolt in wheel well/fender area
B:
Remove 2 Phillips head plastic clips per side from wheel well/fender area
C:
Remove 2 10mm bolts from upper radiator area
D:
Remove 2 plastic mounting clips from upper radiator area
E:
Remove the splash shield (there are 20-25 plastic clips & 2 10mm
bolts)
F:
Remove 2 10mm bolts in intercooler mesh area
G:
Unhook intercooler sprayer tube
H: Separate bumper from fender by pulling down (do both sides)
I: Bumper is now loose,
pull forward to remove
J: Remove 15 Phillips head
bolts from lower back side of bumper cover
K:
Factory lower lip will now come off
Step 2: Installing splitter to front bumper cover
A:
Snip the 15 holes to make them slots
B:
Install splitter mounts using 14 self tapping screws
C: Center the mounts using the center hole in
bumper cover
Make
sure both ends of splitter overhang bumper cover the same amount
D:
Using pliers/channel lock/etc, tweak mounting ears so that the splitter
mount halves are even & splitter
is pointing parallel to ground or slightly
down
F:
Squeeze halves together & reinstall 15 Phillips head bolts
G:
Install splitter to splitter mount using ½” Allen head bolts & lock
nuts
H:
Install center brackets using 4)
¾” Allen head bolts & lock nuts for inner
bracket & 4) ½” Allen head bolts & lock nuts for
outer bracket - Press
splitter halves together before
tightening for better fit
I:
Install splitter brace to splitter – Measure 8 ½” from inner edge of
mesh
opening & center fore/aft – Drill hole & bolt on
J:
Reinstall bumper to car in reverse order of removal
K:
Once installed & back on ground, adjust splitter to a slight down
angle,
approximately 2 degrees
